ProSTUD® Drywall Framing System

ProSTUD Drywall Framing System (ProSTUD® and ProTRAK®) is the innovative
steel drywall stud that sets a new industry benchmark for high performance.
Its patent pending design combines high-strength steel with additional stiffening
enhancements for a drywall framing stud previously unimagined.

When we set out to develop this revolutionary drywall framing system, we wanted
it to be the best. The most innovative. So, we called in the pros – the guys that work
with the product day in and day out. ProSTUD Drywall Framing was developed, tested
and approved in the field. The result? Drywall framing performance designed by the
pros for the pro.

What’s more, ProSTUD Drywall Framing is backed by comprehensive laboratory testing
for strength, fire and sound. No other drywall framing system has been as thoroughly
tested as ProSTUD. So not only is it a dream to work with, but it also has the performance
to meet the requirements of today’s building codes. ProSTUD is available nationwide.

Interior Contour Track®

Contour Track is a low-cost, high-performance solution for creating non-load
bearing intricate curves, bends, variable radii and arches for dramatic and
distinctive walls, ceilings and bulkheads.

•Easily hand bends or forms to the desired curve, bend, radius or arch
•One product for both curves and arches
•Use with wood or steel studs
•Sizes: 2-1/2”, 3-5/8” and 6”
•Gauges: 25 and 20

ClarkDietrich Contour Track flexible framing products are low-cost high performance
framing solution for non-load bearing curves, bends, variable radii and arches for dramatic
and distinctive ceilings, walls and bulkheads. Today’s customers want more elaborate and
complex contoured architecture including dramatic sweeping soffits and bulkheads, curved
or rounded walls, wavy ceilings, barrel vaults, arched and contoured openings, round or
oval columns and elliptical and eyebrow curves.

Punched Webs
Contour Track is permanently locked into place by securing it to the primary supporting
structure using the pre-punched holes conveniently placed throughout the web.

Expandable Ribbon Technology
Contour Track flexible framing products feature expandable ribbon technology that
expands and contours to your desired curve, bend or radius. The ribbon technology offers
curveable flexibility, while maintaining or holding its shape during installation.

Hinged Support Leg
The other leg of the ClarkDietrich Contour Track features pre-punched, easy-to-cut guide
holes when contour track is used in arches or extreme radius conditions like column framing. In these conditions, the ribbons are quickly removed with snips and the trim holes are partially cut to provide maximum flexibility and versatility.

Interlocking Track
Contour Track flexible framing members bend both ways and easily form challenging
compound curves. S-curves are easily made by overlapping and interlocking one two-inch
web section. Screw attach, then hand bend to the desired effect.

Corner Angle

Utility angles used to connect, reinforce or secure metal stud framing in various
drywall applications.

•Available in numerous sizes and gauges
•Custom sizes, bends and lengths available

Corner angle is a multipurpose 90˚ or 120˚/135˚ galvanized angle used in dozens of
framing applications. Some of the most common applications include lapped framing
conditions, soffit framing, floor and ceiling runner, chase wall construction and laminated gypsum drywall partitions.

Furring Channel for Walls and Ceilings

Economical hat-shaped framing component used to “furr” out ceilings and
masonry walls.

•Provides noncombustible furring for interior and exterior walls
•Use to level uneven surfaces
•Available in 7/8” and 1-1/2” depths in 25, 20, 18 and 16 gauge
•Standard lengths are 10’ and 12’. Other lengths available
•Hemmed leg furring channel (as shown) is only available in 25 gauge

ClarkDietrich furring channel is a hat-shaped corrosion-resistant framing component used to furr out masonry walls and ceiling assemblies. In concrete wall applications, furring channel is installed vertically to the wall surface using concrete nails or power-driven fasteners. Gypsum panels are then screw-attached to the furring channels. In drop ceiling applications, furring channels can be attached directly to the underside of the building structure using Metal Furring Channel Clips, tie wire, screws or power-driven fasteners. Heavier gauge furring enables greater spans and loading capacity. 18- or 16- gauge furring is commonly used for purlins in exterior applications.

Grommets for Steel Wall Stud Framing

Grommets protect and isolate electrical wiring and plumbing from contacting metal.

•Snaps quickly into stud knockout
•Prevents/eliminates pipe rattle
•Standard grommets fit all size studs except 1-5/8" and 2-1/2"
•Use the Snap-In bushing for 1-5/8" and 2-1/2" wall framing
•Grommets are packaged 100 pieces per bag or in boxes of 500

Grommets snap easily into stud knockouts and are used to protect electrical wiring and
plumbing lines from contacting metal. Grommets are commonly used in construction when
metal conduit is not required by building code.

Installation
Install grommets in all stud knockouts where wiring and plumbing lines will be inserted.
Use the Snap-In Bushing for 1-5/8" and 2-1/2" wall studs and the standard 2-piece
grommet for all wall studs 3-1/2" and wider.

Install the Snap-In Bushing by pressing the bushing into the stud knockout. Make sure
to engage the bushing lips to secure into place.

Install the standard 2-Piece Grommet by first opening the grommet as illustrated above.
Insert one side of the grommet through the knockout. Snap the grommet together so it
engages with the metal sandwiched between the two plastic sides.

Z-Furring Channel for Walls and Ceilings

Easily accommodates rigid insulation and provides for the attachment of gypsum
wallboard, veneer or plaster to the interior of masonry walls.

•1-1/4” wide flange for easy screw attachment
•”Toed in” leg to grip rigid insulation positively
•Available in 1”, 1-1/2”, 2”, 2-1/2” depths and 10’ standard length
•Custom sizes and lengths available

ClarkDietrich Z-furring is used to furr out interior masonry or poured concrete wall
substrates and to support rigid polystyrene, mineral, or fiberglass batt insulation while
providing a uniform plane for gypsum panel attachment. Z-furring should be installed
vertically with the 3/4" flange against the substrate. The type of fastener and spacing will
vary based on application. Gypsum wallboard may be installed parallel or perpendicular
to the Z-furring. Metal lath should be installed perpendicular to the Z-furring.
