Protecta® AR 100 Type X with Mold Defense® Protecta AR® 100 Type X with Mold Defense® is an abuse-resistant drywall consisting of a fiberglass-enhanced, noncombustible, high-density gypsum core with a reinforced, heavy-facing paper that guards against surface abrasion, indentation, mold and mildew. Protecta AR 100 is designed for use in applications that require direct mechanical attachment to wood or metal framing, or as a component of fire-rated assemblies.
To ensure optimal Type X fire-resistant performance, follow recommended installation procedures. When used in a certified sound-rated assembly, Protecta AR 100 will also contribute to required Sound Transmission Class (STC) values. The ivory facing paper will accommodate a wide variety of decorative treatments after proper surface preparation. HIR 300 Type X with Mold Defense®: Mold Defense offers enhanced protection against mold and mildew growth compared to ordinary drywall products. Under controlled testing conditions, Mold Defense achieved an average panel score of 10 out of a possible 10 using ASTM D 3273. Mold Defense products comply with the treated-article exemption of FIFRA (the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act) as determined by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) .Applications: Protecta AR 100 Type X with Mold Defense is designed for use in interior areas where a higher resistance to abrasion, indentation and impact penetration is required. Mold Defense® Type X Protecta® HIR 300 Type X with Mold Defense® is a high impact, fire and mold-resistant drywall that incorporates the proven formulation of our industry-preferred, abuse-resistant board. Protecta HIR 300 uses a fiberglass-enhanced, noncombustible, high-density, synthetic gypsum core with reinforced, strong facers that guard against surface abrasion, indentation, mold and mildew.
Protecta HIR 300 uses an engineered reinforcement technology to provide enhanced resistance to penetration, achieving Level 3 soft- and hard-body impact ratings per ASTM C 1629. Mold Defense: Mold Defense offers enhanced protection against the growth of mold and mildew compared with ordinary drywall products. Under controlled testing conditions, Mold Defense achieved an average panel score of 10 out of a possible 10 using ASTM D 3273. Applications: Protecta HIR 300 Type X with Mold Defense is designed for use in interior areas where a higher resistance to abrasion, indentation, and impact penetration is required.
