Mineral Wool Insulation

Mineral wool is made from inorganic fibers derived from basalt, a volcanic rock, with a
thermosetting resin binder. Our advanced manufacturing process ensures a high fiber
density and a low amount of unincorporated material that can impair product function.
This means we can ensure consistent product quality and excellent performance in
every batt.

Our entire line of commercial mineral wool products are LEED-certified and
GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified® for low chemical emissions.
Mineral wool will resist moisture, will not mildew or support corrosion, fungi growth or
vermin, and won’t deteriorate over time. With a melting point in excess of 2000° F,
mineral wool is rated as noncombustible by building codes.

Available in a range of thicknesses and sizes for a variety of applications, mineral wool
is easily cut with a utility knife for convenient job site fabrication.

MinWool® Sound Attenuation Fire Batts

MinWool Sound Attenuation Fire Batts (SAFB) insulation is designed to deliver noise
control in metal stud wall cavities of interior partitions, exterior walls or above suspended
ceiling systems. These lightweight, flexible insulation batts are excellent sound
absorbers, improving the wall assembly Sound Transmission Class (STC) ratings by
up to 10dB.

MinWool® Safing

Available plain or faced with a (FSP) Scrim Reinforced Foil Facing vapor retarder on
one face, MinWool Safing insulation provides a fire-rated seal when installed between
the spandrel panel and floor slab in commercial curtainwall systems. It also prevents
flame and smoke from passing through openings that penetrate fire rated assemblies.

MinWool® Curtainwall

MinWool Curtainwall insulation provides superior fire resistance in glass, metal, and
masonry curtainwall spandrel systems. Using either plain or faced with a (FSP) Scrim
Reinforced Foil Facing vapor retarder on one face, Curtainwall can be placed between
or over framing members.
